A Marilyn Monroe Thought For The Day…

I really love reading about Marilyn Monroe, she was sexy and far more intelligent than she let on.  Her quotes are some of my all time favorites and of late several apply so well to my life.

My Marilyn quote and thought for the day:

“When it comes down to it, I let them think what they want. If they care enough to bother with what I do, then I’m already better than them.” ~ Marilyn Monroe

It is a good one to consider as advice.  Stop worrying about what others think of you, let them think anything they like about you, all that matters in this life is that you are true to  yourself.

Be yourself, don’t look back, and never concern yourself with what they think , if they don’t like you they will put a negative twist on anything you say or do, and they thrive on your pain and misfortune.  Don’t  waste YOUR precious time giving a damn what they think.  Your friends love you for who you are and accept you with all those great characteristics as well as your faults.  Truth be told it is most likely jealousy driving those that speak negatively about you, and while I do not know who said it one of my favorite lines is “jealousy is a disease, get well soon bitches”.  Jealousy takes root in people and drives them to focus on you, what you do, say, etc and always in a negative light.  Take the higher road and follow the Thumper rule in life, “if you don’t have something nice to say it isn’t necessary to say anything at all.”  That includes drawing attention from others to your dislike of someone, doing that you give that person you dislike power over you, you have made them worth precious minutes that would be better used on something else. Once the moment is past you cannot get it back.

Anytime you care enough to follow someone’s  life  you have placed value on them.  Whether for real enjoyment, love, concern or to look down on them, you’ve still placed a very high worth on them because life is short, time is limited, and you’ve used some of that limited time to focus on them.

Chose wisely how you spend your given minutes and  never apologize for being true to yourself.

  1. Marti – I love reading your blogs! You have such a way with words and, like I’ve said before, you should write a book – Author Marti!! I’d buy it! Hang in there, kiddo. Things always work out for the best. God has a higher plan for you and will give you more than you (and others) could ever expect for yourself!
